Dr. Theresa Hedrington is a visionary leader, distinguished educator, accomplished author, minister, and advocate whose life's work reflects excellence, faith, and transformational service. Raised in the vibrant communities of the Bronx and Westchester, New York, she has cultivated a prestigious career spanning more than 25 years in special education, serving as a teacher, director, and influential advocate for children and families with special needs. Her professional expertise is deeply enriched by her personal journey as a parent and grandparent of children with special needs, fueling her unwavering commitment to empowerment, inclusion, and community impact.
A gifted storyteller and dynamic speaker, Dr. Hedrington is the co-author of Puanani Repentance (Beautiful Flower) and a contributor to the inspiring anthology Turning My Pain into Purpose. Through her writing, she explores themes of healing, identity, resilience, and spiritual transformation, offering readers a compelling blend of authenticity, wisdom, and hope.
Holding advanced degrees in Special Education and Human Services, along with an honorary PhD in Educational Studies, Dr. Hedrington is widely respected for her contributions, compassionate leadership, and commitment to lifelong learning. As a licensed International Task Force Chaplain, she continues to serve with distinction in both ministry and community outreach.
With more than 30 years of ministry experience, Minister Theresa has faithfully served as a spiritual leader, mentor, and prayer warrior. After years of dedicated service at Dabar Tabernacle of Deliverance, Inc., she now serves at New York Covenant Church under the leadership of Bishop Holder. Her ministry is characterized by fervent prayer, unwavering compassion, biblical teaching, and a passionate commitment to winning souls for Christ. Whether mentoring, writing, teaching, or serving her community, Dr. Hedrington remains devoted to sharing truth, restoring hope, and inspiring others to discover and fulfill their God-given purpose.
